William Darrell Martin
1915-1955
William D. Martin was born July 27, 1916 in Arkansas but it appears from the records he
was born in Oklahoma and the family moved to Sebastian Co., Ar. not too long after that.
His parents were William O'Bradley & Helen May Barker Martin. October 4, 1943
William married Gloria Elizabeth Read who was from Cornerbrook, Newfoundland. The
marriage was in Sebastian Co., Ar.
No miitary draft card has been found for him. He enlisted in the US Air Corps at
Little Rock, Arkansas. The exact has not been found. Nothing more is found about his time in the
service until his death in a plane crash in Glasscock, Texas July 27, 1945. Clippings below

Lieut William D. Martin was laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith,
Sebastian Co., Ar.
