Robert Harry Lynch was born November 2, 1908 in Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. to William Walter & Mabel Florence "Mamie" Rogers Lynch. In 1928 he married Loice Constance Brown from South Sebastain Co., Ar.

Robert registered for the military draft October 16, 1940 at Belle Point School in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. He enlisted in the US Army July 12, 1942 at Little Rock, Arkansas and served until his retirement with a final rank of Lt. Colornel.

Lt. Col. Robert Harry Lynch passed away August 10, 1982 at Fort Smith, Arkansas. His burial was in Rose Lawn Park Cemetery.

OBITUARY:
Robert Harry Lynch, 73, of 402 S. 14th Street, died Tuesday (August 10), 1982 at a Fort Smith hospital. He was a retired Army lieutenant colonel and member of Goddard United Methodist Church.

Grave side service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Loice, a daughter Helen Ann Parta of Fort Smith; a son, Joe Lynch of Summerest, KY., a sister Mrs Grace Hardaway of Fort Smith; two brothers R. W. "Boot" Lynch of Fort Smith and John Lynch of Los Angeles; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Bill Walker, Bill Hicks, Col., Bill Mason, Ed Haynes, Raymond Hagan, Chester Kingsbury, and Stewart Price.

A memorial has been established with the Goddard United Methodist Church New Property Fund. - Source - Fort Smith Newspaper.
