John Alfred Lasater

John Alfred Lasater was born July 27, 1914 at Paris, Short Mountain Twsp, Logan
Co., Arkansas to John Alfred & Rosie Alice Arnold Lasater.
Junw 12, 1937 he married Mary Eulalie Doss from Alma, Crawford Co., Ar.
The marriage was in Sebastian Co., Ar.
October 16, 1940, "R-Day" - the date on which all men between ages 21
and 35 were required to register for the draft, John registered at
the Junior High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. September 30, 1942 he enlisted
at Little Rock, Arkansas with the Army Air Corps, soon to be named US Air Force.
Another date found for his enlistment is September 20, 1942. He served
until April 19, 1946. His rank was Sgt. Nothing more is found about his time in the
service.
John Alfred Lasater passed away September 11, 1995. His burial was in the
National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
