Henry Laverne Johnson was born February 8, 1927 at Stroud, Lincoln Co., Oklahoma to Myrl William & Ethel Mae Johnson Johnson. May 5, 1951 while living in Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. he married Mary Eugenia "Jean" Ferrill of Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.

February 7, 1945 Henry registered for the military draft at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co. Ar. He enlisted and served in the US Army. Nothing more is found about his service.

Henry Laverne Johnson passed away May 26, 2005 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. His burial was in Rose Lawn Park Cemetery in Fort Smith.

Henry L. "Bud" Johnson, 78, of Fort Smith, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2005, in Fort Smith. He was a member of Albert Pike Christian Church (later became Crossview Christian Church) a VFW member and an Army veteran. He was elected city director of Ward 3 in Fort Smith in 1976 and served until the end of 1982. He was owner and operator of Johnson Construction and he was also an avid bird hunter.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, 2005, at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Randy Weece officiating with interment to follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Johnson of the home; a son, Mike Johnson of Greenwood; a daughter, Susan Johnson of Fort Smith; sister, Delois Stallings of Greenwood; two grandchildren, Michael Johnson and his wife, Stacy, of Greenwood and Leeann Moses and her husband, Ryan, of Hackett.

The family will receive friends Monday 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Albert Pike Christian Church (which later became Crossview Christian Church), 2711 North Albert Pike, Fort Smith, AR 72904.
