Roy Leo James 1916-1999
Roy Leo James was born September 30, 1916 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.
to Claude Fair & Josephinse "Jocie" Riley James. December 26, 1936
he was granted a marriage license with Ina Arrena Hill in Sebastian Co., Ar.
October 16, 1940 Roy registered for the military draft at Pine Bluff, Jefferson Co.,
Arkansas. The only enlistment record found is dated May 4, 1952 with the army showing
he served until December 16, 1952, but in 1944 he is found in the Clearwater,
Florida, City Directory with his occupation being "United States Army". He was a
careeer military man, later servivng in the US Air Force. His biography below has more
about his service. It states his first enlistment was with the Air Force beginning
November 7, 1942. A record from his death says he had 4 years of college and served
with the US Army. In a photo below it shows photos of his service with the
Military and Foreign Technology and a 1st Airborne insignia patch from WWII and
Korean Conflict.
Roy Leo James passed away December 10, 1999 at Dayton, Montgomery Co. Ohio. His
burial was in Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Springboro, Warren Co., Ohio.
