Horace Hobert Holley was born September 22, 1923 at Mansfield, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Ray Webster & Esther Spain Holley. December 23, 1950 he married Gwendolyn Joan Yeakley of Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. His residence at that time was Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Horace registered for the military draft June 30, 1942 in Sebastian Co., Ar. He states his birth place was Mansfield, Sebastian Co., Ar. April 4, 1944 he enlisted in the US Navy and served until June 5, 1946. His rank was Seaman 1c.

Horace Hobert Holley passed away April 25, 2005 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co. Ar. His burial was in the Union Ridge Cemetery near Dayton, Sebastian Co., Ar.

Horace H. Holley, age 81, of Fort Smith passed away Monday, April 25, 2005, in Fort Smith. He was owner of Fort Smith Blueprint in Fort Smith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Holley; and his father and mother, Ray and Esther Holley.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Union Ridge Cemetery near Dayton under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.

He is survived by one daughter, Linda Burkert and her husband Ron of Fort Smith; two brothers, Fred Holley and John Holley, both of Fort Smith; two grandchildren, Christy Burkert and Blake Burkert.

Family visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Fentress Mortuary.
