Troy Eugene Holland was born June 1, 1923 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Ollie & Tolitha Perkins Holland. In January 1945 he married Marie Inez Mahan both of Fort Smith at that time. The license was issued at Hanford, California.

Troy registered for the military draft June 30, 1942 at Fort Smith, Arkansas. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps, later US Air Force, January 19, 1943 and served until February 25, 1946. More about his service can be found in his biography below.

Troy E. Holland 82, of Fort Smith, AR died Friday December 23, 2005 in Fort Smith. He was a self-employed mechanic, a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church, UCT, American Legion Post No. 31 and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday December 28, 2005 in Fentress Mortuary Chapel of Fort Smith, AR, with burial at Barling City Cemetery in Barling; AR. Local arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary.

He is survived by: His wife Marie of the home, one daughter; Margaret Sharp and her husband Charlie of Fort Smith, AR, one son; George Holland and his wife Ramona of Fort Smith, AR. Three grandchildren; Christy McClellan of Greenwood, AR, Joni Hamlett and her husband Dustin of Fort Smith, AR and Travis Holland and his wife Kristin of Hackett, AR. Two great-grandchildren; Hunter McClellan of Greenwood, AR and Katelynn Holland of Hackett, AR. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Leonard James, Dustin Hamlett, Bill James, Kenneth King, Neal Wade and Travis Holland. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles King and Arthur Lairamore.
