Horace Boyd Hogan

Horace Boyd Hogan was born June 7, 1918 in Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Arthur Virgil and Mary Myrtle Kirkpatrick. He had a twin sister Hellen B Hogan. May 11, 1940 Horace married Virnagene Smithson, both residing in Lavaca, Ar.

October 16, 1940 Horace registered for the military draft at Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. He served with the US Army from April 25, 1945 till July 31, 1946. No other information is found about his service.

On April 8, 1978 Horace Boyd Hogan passed away in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. and he was buried in the Oak Valley Cemetery at Lavaca Arkansas.

Graveside service was held on Friday at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma; six daughters, Becky Moore, Linda Dunn and Diane Smoot, all of Greenwood, Judy Johnson of Huntington, Janie Wilhite of Muldrow and Ursula Boob of Germany; a son, Randy Smoot of Muldrow; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
