James Harker & Julia Emma Copher Helms. December 5, 1941 he married
Eunice Maxine Whittington from Cavanaugh, Sebastian Co., Ar. His residence was
South Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.
June 6, 1942 Lessie registered for the military draft at
South Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was working at Camp Chaffee at that time.
He enlisted with the US Army November 8, 1943 and served until Febuary 18, 1946.

Lessie Leroy Helms passed away January 30, 1998 at Waldo,
Columbia Co., Arkansas. His burial was in Steep Hill Cemetery, Fort Smith, Ar.
