Ralph Paul Smoot, 85, of Greenwood died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, in his home. He was a retired Army veteran of World War II. Graveside service was held on Friday at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. He is survived by his wife, Wilma; six daughters, Becky Moore, Linda Dunn and Diane Smoot, all of Greenwood, Judy Johnson of Huntington, Janie Wilhite of Muldrow and Ursula Boob of Germany; a son, Randy Smoot of Muldrow; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
