Brothers Hugh & Gene Gene was born May 24, 1916 in Barling, Sebastian Co., Ar. to Robert Alexander & Margarette Ellen Edwards Ethridge. He married Lucille Smorthers October 11, 1939. They divorced June 4, 1941. On November 2, 1946 he married Kathryn King from Charleston, Franklin Co., Ar. His residence was Branch, Franklin, Ar. Gene registered for the miitary draft October 16, 1940 at Central, Sebastian Co., Ar. He says his residence is Barling, Ar. He enlisted in the US Navy March 13, 1943 and served until October 31, 1945. Nothing more is known about his time in the miitary. Gene passed away February 22, 1993 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. His burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Charleston, Franklin Co., Ar.
