William "Bill" Tracy Durnam, Sr. was born Novembr 27, 1911 at Charleston,. Franklin Co., Arkansas to William Andrew & LulaElizabeth Russell Durham. November 27, 1935 he married Ruby Miller, both residing in Charleston. The marriage was in Sebastian Co., Ar. Bill registered for the military draft October 16, 1940 at Bloomer, Sebastian Co., Ar. No enlistment date has been found but a Hospital Admission Card dated March 1944 say he had been in the service abut 6 months when he was admitted with measles. He was released back to duty in June of that year. No discharge date from the service has been found. June 4, 1983 Bill passed away at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. Jis burial was in Parks Cemetery at Charleston, Franklin Co., Ar.
