Farris Kenneth Douglas was born in Lavaca, Sebastian Co., Ar. to
Lee J. & Ethel Caroline Piercy Douglas.
January 20, 1940 he married Dorothy May Hooper. They were both
residents of Lavaca, Ar.
February 16, 1942 Farris registered for the military draft at Fort
Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. No Army enlistment
has been found. He served until December 13, 1945 according to a
note on his draft card. His final rank was Pvt.
Farris passed away April 17, 2008 at Lavaca, Sebastian
Co., Ar. His burial was there at Oak Valley Cemetery.

Mr. Farris Kenneth Douglas of Lavaca(Sebastian County), Arkansas, died Thursday, April 17, 2008 in a local nursing home. He was 86 years old. Mr. Douglas was born in 1921 to the late Lee and Ethel Douglas. He was a carpenter/farmer/ and a retired worker for Gerber Products Company in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Mr. Douglas also was a United States ARMY veteran. He was a faithful member and deacon of 1st Baptist Church of Lavaca.
When he retired, Mr. Douglas loved to go to garage sales and going to the County Line Sale on Wednesdays, where he made many new friends. During his retirement, he sold bicycles and tools in his yard. And many a children in Lavaca got thier first bike from Mr. Douglas.
Farris was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 64 years: Dorothy Douglas; and one son: Lowell Douglas.
He is survived by five daughters: Lynda Gayle Brown and her husband Herbert, Bevelyn Hearn, and Kendra Fulmer and her husband, Kim, all of Lavaca, Arkansas, and Kay Strozier and her husband, Ruben and Donna Douglas, all of Greenwood, Arkansas; one son: Dane Douglas and his wife, Tina of Lavaca, Arkansas; 15 wonderful grandchildren: Glynieta, Elygenia, Karren, Cliftina, Kenneth, Carol, Mylissia, Katheryn, Lydell, Robert, Clyfton, Bobby, Derenda, Brian, and Miranda; 24 precious great-grandchildren; 10 very special great-great-grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 12 step-great-grandchildren; and 15 step-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 26, 2008, at 2:00p.m. at the 1st Baptist Church of Lavaca. Burial was held at Oak Valley Cemetery, just south of Lavaca.
Pallbearers were: Kenneth Burris, Robert Lovell, Clyfton Hearn, Bobby and Brian Douglas, and Aaron Price.
