Ambrose Richard Clark was born April 25, 1918 in Oklahoma (Okla comes from the
1920 census) to George William and Ida Harper Clark. May 1, 1941
he married Annie Marie Brown in Sebastian County, both being residents of South Fort
Smith. .
November 10, 1942 Ambrose enlisted in the US Navy. He served until November
10, 1945. His last rank was Wt 2c or Watertender 2 class.
"A watertender is a crewman aboard a steam-powered ship who is responsible
for tending to the fires and boilers in the ship's engine room."
Ambrose Richard Clark passed away at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar.
March 23, 1987. His burial was in the National Cemetery there.
