W R "Dub" Bonner 1919-1999

W R "Dub" Bonner was born July 29, 1919 at Mansfield, Sebastian Co., Ar. to
Columbus Mulgro & Myrtle Odell Hickerson Bonner. July 4, 1940 he
married Rachel Agnes Graves of Mena Polk Co., Arkansas in Sebastian Co., Ar.
April 2, 1949 he married Beverly Evelyn Kirby at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Dub registered for the military draft October 16, 1940 at Sugar Loaf
Twsp., Sebastian Co., Ar. He enlisted in the US Navy March 3, 1944 and served
till December 26, 1945. His rank was MM3, Machinest Mate 3rd class. Nothing
more is found on his time in the service.
The job of a Machinist's Mate is to "operate, maintain, and repair
(organizational and intermediate level) ship propulsion machinery,
auxiliary equipment, and outside machinery.
W R "Dub" Bonner passed away February 22, 1999 at Talihina,
LeFlore Co., Oklahoma. His burial was in Coop Prairie Cemetery in
Mansfield, Scott Co., Ar.

Mr. W.R. "Dub" Bonner, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, died Monday, 02-22-1999,
in Talihina, Oklahoma. Mr. Bonner was 79 years old. He was the son of the
late Columbus Mulgro Bonner and Myrtle (Hickerson) O'Dell Bonner.
On the 2nd day of April, 1949, Mr. Bonner, married Beverly Kirby in
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The couple had 4 children.
Mr. Bonner was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife: Beverly Bonner; a daughter: Carol; three
sons: William R. Bonner, Jeff Bonner, and Vincent Bonner; 7 grandchildren;
1 great-grandchild; and two sisters: LaVerne and Judy.
Funeral services for Mr. Bonner were held on Thursday, 02-25-1999, at the
1st Baptist Church of Muldrow, Oklahoma. Revs. Tim Ohls and William R.
Bonner, officiated the services. He was laid to rest at Coop Prairie
Cemetery in Mansfield, Arkansas.
