Gorham in Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. where they both resided. June 5, 1917 Walter registered for the military draft at Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. The only note I find of him serving in WWI is on a death record that gives his birth date as Mar. 31, 1895 and Military date as Jan 10, 1919. On April 27, 1942 Walter again registered for the military draft at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co, Ar. There are 2 Navy muster records from 1945 that are for a Walter M. Bailey. He was a Seaman 2nd class. Walter Melvin would have been 49 yrs old. Walter Melvin Bailey passed away on Dec 6, 1950 in Hartford, Sebastian Co., Ar. and is buried in the Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Greenwood, Ar.
