Ellen LaRue Bailey was born November 25, 1922 in Center Twsp, Sebastian
Co., Ar. to Walter & Catherine Helen Gorman Bailey.
June 3, 1948 she married John Clayton Joyner from Corning, Clay
Co., Ar. Ellen's residence was Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar.
John was a veteran and has his own WWII page.
Ellen enlisted in the US Navy Waves and achieved the rank of SK2C. In
the US Navy the ranks are the same for the men and women who serve. SK2C
is Store Keep 2nd class.
The US Navy established the WAVES program July 30, 1942. Ellen served at the
Naval Air Station at Pearl Harbor. More can be found about her service in

Ellen LaRue Bailey Clayton passed away July 14, 2014 in Sebastian
Co., Ar. Her burial was inthe Greenwood Memorial Cemetery at Greenwood, Ar.
