James Morris Arp

James Morris Arp was born January 10, 1914 at Artesia Wells, La Salle Co., Texas to
James & Martha Adella Arp. August 28,1940 he married Velva Pearl Ray in
Sebastian Co., both residing at Mansfield, Sebastian Co., Ar.
James enlisted in the US Navy April 4, 1944 and served until December 25, 1945.
He served on the USS Patuxent, a Kennebec-class oiler. More about his
time in the service is in the biography below. At the bottom of this
page are several musters from his service. Beneath that is the story of the ship
during the time he was aboard.
James Morris Arp passed away September 25, 1990 in Spiro, LeFlore Co., Oklahoma.
His burial was in Union Ridge Cemetery at Crossroad, Sebastian Co., Ar.
