Homer Matthews "Bud" Appleyard, Jr.
1924 - 2017
"Buddy" Appleyard. Jr. was born October 26, 1924 at Tuscaloosa,
Tuscaloosa Co., Alabama to Homer Matthews, Sr. & Addie Mae
Lovvorn Appleyard. He married Drusilla Putman of
Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. in June 1947 at Tuscaloosa, Alabama
where Buddy was attending school at the University of Alabama.
Buddy registred for the miitary draft December 18, 1942 at Tuscaloosa,
Alabama. He was 18 years old and a student at the University of Alabama there.
He enlisted in the US Army May 20, 1943 at Fort McClellan, Alabama. Nothing
more is known about his time inn the service.
Buddy passed away September 20, 2017 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. His
burial was in Rose Lawn Park Cemetery there.
