Zollie Altes was born August 16, 1918 at Ada, Patts Co. Oklahona to
Earl Leon & May Drucilla Starns Altes. He had a twin
sister Dollie as well as other siblings. Zollie married Mary Minerva Lane.
No date or place has been found for that marriage.
Zollie registered for the military draft October 16, 1943 at the Junior High School at
Fort Smith, Sebastian Co., Ar. He enlisted in the US Army April 7, 1942 and served
until November 24, 1945. Nothing more is known about his service. On the 1950 census
his occupation is "painter interior & exterior". Later he had a Skelly Gas Station
on Grand Ave. in Fort Smith, Ar.
Zollie Altes passed away January 2, 1988 at Fort Smith, Sebastian Co. Ar.
His burial was in Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith.
