Charles Lewis Cumbie 1884-1989 Charles Lewis Cumbie was born October 30, 1894 in Sebastian County, Arkansas to Nathan Gamble & Sarah Isabella McClendon Cumbie. October 29, 1922 he married Vera Cleo McConnell. Both residents of Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar. Charles served in the US Army from July 5, 1918 till February 5, 1919. Nothing more is known about his time in the service. Charles passed away April 22, 1988 at Van Buren, Crawford Co., Ar. His burial was in Liberty Cemetery at Greenwood, Sebastian Co., Ar.
