George was born 1832 in Alabama to James Carmichael & Fannie
Octavia Burnside Walker. By 1850 the family was living in
Carroll Co., Mississippi.
George married twice. The name of the first wife is not known.
His second wife was Mary "Polly" G. Logan. They were married
August 1862 according to a later census record.
On the 1860 census George is in Sugarloaf, Sebastian Co., Ar. with 3
children, Martha, John & Louisa, but no wife. The 1 year old Louisa
was born in Arkansas, Martha & John in Missouri. There is a marriage in
Barry Co., Missouri March 24, 1853 for a George W Walker and Polly Ann Martindale.
Without more information it's hard to know but the date is about the right time.
Their oldest child appears to be born about 1855.
On the 1880 census they list 2nd wife Mary's age as 14 instead of 41.
Records from George's time in the service are below. He passed away
March 14, 1905 at Hackett, Sebastian Co., Ar. His burial was in
Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Hackett.
