James Anderson Pitchford 1837-1915 James Anderson Pitchford was born October 3, 1838 in Habersham Co., Georgia to Lewis & Rebecca Ann Dorsey Pitchford. Junary 6, 1839 he married Louisa Jane Potts at White Co., Georgia. James enlisted with the Confederate Army Co. C. 12th North Carolina. as a Pvt. Several of his muster records are found below. He was appointed 3rd Corporal August 24, 1861 and 1st Corporal June 8, 1863. That was his final rank. He is found on "Georgia Returns of Qualified Voters and Reconstruction Oath Books for 1867-69". He still resided in Georgia in 1870. By 1880 he and his family had moved to Hartford, Sebastian Co., Ar. James passed away April 12, 1915 in Sebastian Co., Ar. He is buried in Harris Cemetery near Greenwood in Sebastian Co. No grave photo has been found.
