Island Cemetery
Submitted by Jack James
The cemetery is about nine (9) miles NE of Lavaca, Sebastian Co. AR on Hwy 96. The Island Cemetery is on high gournd near the Arkansas River,
just past the Arbuckle Island Road that leads to Arbuckle Island. Earlier survey done by Wanda Gray, July 31, 1997.
Many of the graves are marked only with a rock or home made marker (names are fadeing on most). The cemetery is clean, fenced and an active burial ground.
Several markers are covered with moss or fading. I have included information on family and friends that may not have been covered in the
survey done in 1997 or even on known records. I have gotten this information from other family/friends or from obits at the time of the death.
