Paragould residents in 1922 would have had difficulty believing that this dirt road with the lazy horse and waiting buggy would some day be replaced by a paved road filled with noisy cars. But this pastoral scene, taken in Linwood Cemetery, no longer exists. Taken by a photographer from McHaney's Studio, the picture looks north toward East Kingshighway between what are now 14th Street and U.S. Hwy. 49, according Hazel Carter. Carter's sons, Phil and Tim, brought the photograph of their grandmother's grave to the Daily Press.
