FAMILY HISTORY IN FRANKLIN COUNTY
Dock Watson Haney was born on May 14, 1881 and died September 9, 1974 in Charleston, Arkansas.
Lydia Presley Haney was born on May 18, 1880 in Asheville, NC and died on
February 17, 1964. Dock and Lydia were married on March 17, 1899 in Haywood County, NC, probably at Pigeon Township. Lydia is the daughter of Elizabeth Bradley Presley and Alvin Davis Presley, who were married on October 28, 1877.I do not have information on the parents of Dock. Elizabeth's husband was deceased prior to her moving to Arkansas.
Dock and Lydia went to Charleston at around the turn of the century, along with Lydia's mother and her siblings: Altha Presley Goodson and her husband, William Bird Goodson Jethro Nelson Presley Lena Presley, who married Carl R. Spessard
There are still Presley, Haney and Spessard's living in Charleston and most of the members of these families are buried at Nixon Cemetery in Charleston.
I have other photo's that you will probably be interested in, but have not been able to go through them as yet. I also have a picture that you will be VERY interested in having coming to me. It's a picture, taken in 1912, of the entire student body of a school that was in Charleston.
Unfortunately, I cannot remember the name of the school, but it is written at the bottom of the photo. When I get my copy of this I will send it to you for inclusion. Thanks again for your help!
