J. W. (James) Dickey, 87, of Benton, La.; formerly of Dalark, died Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, in Shreveport, La. He was born April 25, 1922, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, the son of the late Dallas and Crissie (Dollie) Adeline Green Dickey. J. W. was a retired construction foreman, a U. S. Army Air Force veteran of WW II and was one of the founding members of the Dalark Hunting Club. His wife, Ruby Dell Voss Dickey, preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Moore and husband Danny, and Kay Pinnix, all of Benton; one son, Jeff Dickey of Shreveport; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at Macedonia Cemetery near Dalark with Bro. Lee Denton officiating. Burial will follow by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
