Jewell Archer, 90, of Fordyce, died Tuesday February 8, 2005 in his home. Mr. Archer was born in Carthage, AR, on March 3, 1914 to the late Crum Lamar & Annie Julia Carter Archer. He was a member of the Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church and a Retired Iron Worker, and a member of the Local Iron Workers #321where he served for over 60 years.
He is survived by a son, Derwood Archer & wife Karen of Fordyce; two daughters, Margaret Archer Tidwell of Fordyce, Ann Archer Campbell & husband Wayne of Fordyce; two brothers, Dale Archer of Elwood, IL, James Archer of Little Rock, AR; nine grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren. Mr. Archer was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Hannah Belle Oakley Archer, a brother, Carter Archer; a sister, Bonnie Archer Lusk; a son-in-law Edward L. Tidwell; and two great grandchildren, Jet and Whitney Tidwell.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Friday February 11, 2005 at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in McDonald Cemetery, with the Rev. B.L. Blann officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the Funeral Home in Fordyce. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce (www.bentonfuneralhome.com ).

FORDYCE -- Jewell Archer, 90, of Fordyce, died Tuesday at his home.
He was born March 3, 1914, at Carthage, a son of the late Crum Lamar Archer and Annie Julia Carter Archer.
He was a retired iron worker.
He was a member of Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church and the Local Iron Workers 321, where he served for more than 60 years.
He was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Hannah Belle Oakley Archer; one brother, Carter Archer; one sister, Bonnie Archer Lusk; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Derwood Archer of Fordyce; two daughters, Margaret Archer Tidwell and Ann Archer Campbell, both of Fordyce; two brothers, Dale Archer of Elwood, Ill., and James Archer of Little Rock; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Benton Funeral Home at Fordyce with the Rev. B.L. Blann officiating. Burial will be in McDonald Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
