Sarah Davis Wolfe

"This is Sarah Sallie Davis Wolfe. She is my son's 4th great-grandmother. She was the daughter of John Davis and Elizabeth Fenn from Baldwin Co. GA.

Sarah moved to Arkansas and married John William Wolfe on 2 Nov 1873. They were the parents of George Washington Wolfe who married Vera Ann Haygood.

There was an Indian tradition in the family that heirlooms went to the oldest living daughter. Upon their marriage John bought Sarah a beautiful clock which my ex-mother-in-law still has, with John's handwriting on the back with their marriage date.

Sarah and John are buried in Williams Cemetery near Banks, AR. She was full blooded Indian and is listed on the Dawes Roll.
