On Feb. 24, 2002 a group of St. John family met at Betty Jo Coddington Rains' home in Halley, Desha, Arkansas. We had a wonderful time talking about the past generations and viewing old pictures. Sue Roberts Best (daughter of Ray and Auska St. John Roberts) brought the picture of Mary B. "Polly Anna" Beasley. For this we are very thankful that she had it.
The picture was passed through the family and Shirley St. John Meggs (daughter of Erbie Wilson and Ora Belle (Shirron) St. John) told me they too at one time had the picture and then was given to Aunt Auska. (pronounced Auskie)
I want to take the time and extend my thank you's to Melissa Jones and Doc Bob for taking the many hours and time for their research and the information that they have passed on to us as part of the St. John Beasley family.
We have created a communication site called stjohn_genes@yahoogroups.com for wide scale email distribution. Any of our members maybe contacted through this email location.

Hi Carolann,
I am really excited about the photo of Mary. She was the sister of
my g-g granddad, John H. Forrest, who we think, died in the late 1860s.
Finding where and when John H. died is one of the family mysteries that
I am trying to solve. This photo of Mary seems to bring me a little closer to John H. . . .
I am amazed at the family resemblance. My granddad, John W. Forrest
(1888-1969), who was John H. Forrest's grandson, bears a striking resemblance
to the photo of Mary B. The eyes, nose and face shape are the same.
I was also wondering about Mary's nickname. I know that Polly is a nickname
for Mary, but where did the Anna come from? Do you have any idea?
Thank you and Sue Best so much, as well as all the St. John family
for sharing these family treasures.
