Elza & Elizabeth BROWN
My grandmother, Elizabeth C. HORTON, was born in Lowell, Benton County,
in 1877. Her father was Joel F. HORTON and her
grandfather was Isaac HORTON. She married Elza M. BROWN of Granby,
Missouri.
Benjamin Franklin CREAMER and wife, Melinda Arlabelle (Grider) CREAMER.
They lived in several areas of the county, including Bentonville and Siloam Springs.
3rd Great Grandparents of
Linn C. COWDEN (1855-1903); Clarissa Clementine (Williams) COWDEN, widow of
Henry COWDEN (brother of Linn C. COWDEN); and Robert Thomas Walker "Bob" COWDEN,
son of Clarissa and Henry COWDEN, all of whom
lived in Benton County. Lynn COWDEN (1797/1800-1880), father of Linn
C. and Henry COWDEN, also lived in Benton County from about 1856 until
1880, when he died. Linn C. COWDEN moved to Texas, finally settling in
Erath County, as did Henry. Both died early 1900's, and Henry's wife
Clarissa moved her family back to Benton County where they remained
until her death. She is buried in Highfill Cemetery.
John Wesley MOORE,
grandson of Lynn W. COWDEN, and his new wife, Brunette (Biggs) COWDEN,
widow of Linn C. COWDEN, a son of Lynn W. COWDEN.
This picture was taken in Erath Co. TX on the event of their
marriage in 1904.
John Wesley MOORE is listed on the 1860, 1870, and 1880 Benton County census.
He was a son of either Katharine COWDEN or Martha COWDEN,
both daughters of Lynn W. COWDEN, who appear maybe to have married the
same man, Archibald MOORE.
