This Harding College postcard was mailed on February 19, 1938, to Mrs. Edna Huffman, 10W Calhoun, Memphis. The message reads: “Dearest Maw Edna: Well, we got to Kensett OK but we can’t get home. We are at Searcy now but the water is over the highway from here home. So I don’t know when we will get home. I called Mr. Ward and he said I couldn’t get home. The train isn’t running. Will let you know as soon as I get home. Love, Geneva.” The writer was probably trying to get to Letona. The postcard was provided by White County Historical Society member Betty J. Bennett of Letona.
