This is the drum major and majorettes for the Searcy High School band in 1938.  The drum major is Wallace Baker (back row center).The only girls in the band were the majorettes (left to right):  Front row – Velta Angel, Marianne Robbins, Musette Freeman; back row – Harriet Yarnell, Virginia Stephens, Laverne Pearson and Doris Hoofman.   This band is featured an article entitled "Unforgettable Music" by the late Farris Wood, a member of the band, in the 2002 edition of White County Heritage.,
