The White County Historical Society thought you might enjoy trying to find this young lady's "best friends". This Victorian-era novelty "Puzzle Card" was distributed as advertising by retailer J.F. Gray of Mt. Pisgah. There are 13 friends hidden in the illustration - although Historical Society archivists say they have never found them all. The advertisement on the back of the card promotes "Dry Good, Notions, Staple Groceries, Hats and Caps, Boots and Shoes, Hardware, China and Glassware, Medicine and all Farm and Household Supplies. Our counters simply sparkle and our choice of Staple Goods and Novelties is always sound. Come and examine our stocks. You will be surprised at the varied assortment we can offer and delighted at the prices. We carry a full line of Ramon Remedies and confidently recommend them to our friends." Did you notice the man reclining on the lady's hat?
