Looking like a scene from a "Little Rascals" movie, this gathering at Doniphan, Arkansas, took place in 1921, a couple of years before Lonnie Glosson (standing at left) earned enough money picking cotton to purchase his first harmonica. The "French harp" became his magic carpet out of the cotton patch to major radio stations like WLS in Chicago. (See "Lonnie Glosson, Harmonica Ambassador.") With Lonnie in this photo are (from left) his sister Violet, brother Buck, Jewel Wilson, Tommy Wilson, and Glosson sisters Pansy and Esther. Jewel and Tommy were cousins of Leotta Wilson Fuller, whose son became mayor of Kensett.
