A Great-Aunt of mine (Julia Williams) married a man by the name of G.
M.Sands.
It is my understanding he had a "business" in Griffithville, AR that
manufactured a product called "Tubercorem." He called his company the G.M. Sands
Co. I have a copy of what seems to be a pamphlet with testimonials about this
product and and address where you could purchase it.
One of the testimonials: "The G. M. Sands Co., Griffithville, Ark. Dear Friend:
Your T.B. cure has done wonders for me and I recommend it to all my friends and
I have several with that awfull T.B. I am almost feeling as well as ever and
thanks to the Lord that I found your wonderfull treatment. Inclosed you will
find $15.00 money order for another treatment. Yours as ever, Fred Leone,
Zwalle, La." This letter was dated Feb. 23, 1919.
There is also a testimonial from a person named C.S. West who was from
Griffithville. There is a picture of G.M. Sands (very poor on my copy) and
the advertisement reads:
Manufactured only by the G.M. Sands Co., Griffithville, Ark., and sold by
Druggists everywhere. Fill in and tear off this order blank. Mail the The
G.M. Sands Co., Griffithville, Ark. Do This Today. Do Not Delay. The
longer you wait, the less chance for relief. The price of TUBERCOREM is
$5.00 forone box, good for 5 inhalings, or $25.00 for six boxes, good for 50
inhalings.
Thanks for you help.
