Rose Bud Cemetery

Rose Bud, Arkansas

This cemetery is located about a mile west of Rose Bud on Highway 36.  It was originally listed July 10, 1961, by Cloie and Leister Presley of the White County Historical Society.   Almost 40 years later, on March 6, 2001, another Historical Society member visited the cemetery and updated the list.  The following report was prepared by Leroy Blair who reported the site as a “nice, clean cemetery.”

 The Presleys found 27 unmarked graves.  Blair found 143 graves marked only with stones, 3 marked only with concrete blocks, 2 marked only with bricks and 5 marked only with cans filled with cement.  He was unable to find six graves that were listed in the 1961 census:  Mary Maggie Evans, John Evans, James A. Evans, Rev. E.W. Norman, W.C. Romey, Mrs. Ora Romey.  Subsequent additions have been made to this cemetery list by the Historical Society based on published obituaries.
