This cemetery was first listed for the White County Historical Society in 1966 by Cloie Presley of Searcy, who reported, "Mr. & Mrs. Reaper are the caretakers and have the cemetery in very nice condition." Thirty-four years later, it was still "very clean and well cared for" when the cemetery was visited November 17, 2000, by Leroy Blair of the Historical Society. Blair added 54 names to the Presley list. When he returned a second time on December 9, 2004, he checked the names and dates on every tombstone and compared it to the existing list, updating and adding information, such as noting broken stones. The names of those buried in unmarked graves, taken from the caretakers’ book in 1966 by Mrs. Presley, can be found at the end of the following list.
The community of Hickory Flat was known previously as Davenport. The Davenport Post Office was established October 6, 1890, and discontinued in 1932.
If you have corrections or additions to this list or additional information on Olive Branch Cemetery, contact the White County Historical Society, P.O. Box 537, Searcy, AR 72145.
