This small family cemetery is located just east of the New Hope Cemetery, West Point, ARabout five miles north of Searcy. [See
New Hope Searcy Cemetery] A small creek along the east side of New Hope Cemetery, West Point, ARand the Patterson
Cemetery is located just across the creek.
Leroy Blair of the White County Historical Society visited the cemetery for the first time on
October 26, 2005, with Sammy Vaughan who lives on Smith Road nearby. He told Blair that he is related to J.H. Patterson, who is
buried here. Vaughn said that he was told that there are five graves in the cemetery. Blair found the grave of J.H. Patterson, which
is marked with a stone. He also found what appear to be three graves covered with stacked rock. He also observed a depression
in the ground next to the Patterson grave. Sammy Vaughan is in the process of cleaning around the cemetery. When the cleanup is
finished there more graves might be found.
This cemetery can also be reached by going down Smith Rd, to 339 Smith Rd. and turning left down a small lane to a house at the
end of the lane. The cemetery is to the right of the house in the edge of the woods.

I will be posting more burials later. The Searcy Daily Citizen donated all their Micro Film and Ledgers dating
back to 1953. After reviewing them, if I find a death of a person that we do not have I will to add to the
cemetery listings.
There are some graves listed as unmarked that may have had a tombstone set since the listing was made.
I may have missed some graves when I prepared the listing. Some cemeteries are very hard to get an
accurate listing due to how some graves are scattered
The following Abbreviations are used in the listings
.
FM-Funeral home marker DS-Double tombstone TS-Triple tombstone
(Obit)-means that the Historical Society has, or has access to the Obituary for this person.
