This is a large, well-kept cemetery, located on California Street in Beebe. The first known list of burials here was prepared by the Beebe
Extension Homemakers Club in May 1968. Recent updates have been made by Leroy “Lee” Blair, a member of the board of directors of the
White County Historical Society. Some subsequent additions have been made by the Society based on published obituaries. During his first
visit in October 2001, Blair found numerous unmarked graves and stones that had fallen off their base. The cemetery was the scene of
serious vandalism on January 3, 2003. The cemetery groundskeeper discovered that 65 to 80 grave markers had been pushed over, broken
or otherwise damaged “in broad daylight.” Most of the stones were subsequently repaired. Nearly a month later, a Beebe teenager was
arrested and charged with felony desecration.
