Alan Thompson, a Kensett native and presently the Museum Registrar at the Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park will present a program on Brig. Gen. Dandridge McRae at a combined meeting of the White County Historical Society and the Civil War Round Table of White County. The meeting will be at 7 PM, October 25, in the Dining Hall of Harding Place, 801 S. Benton St. in Searcy. The public is invited to attend.


McRae was a prominent attorney and politician in Searcy before and after the war and was the only Civil War General from White County. McRae Elementary School and the town of McRae are named in his honor.
