Aunt Sarah Hatchett
Aunt Sarah Hatchett Submitted by Donnie PickardVan Buren County Democrat, March 5, 1936
Aunt Sarah Hatchett, aged 90 and one of Clinton's most beloved ladies, left Tuesday noon for Ada, Okla., accompanied by her son and daughter-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hatchett, with whom she will make her home.
Due to illness of her daughter, Mrs. Lillie Patton, with whom she had made her home for a number of years, Aunt Sarah recently went to Scotland to make her home with a son Dr. J. K. Hatchett, following this son's death a short time ago and Mrs. Hatchett being injured in a car wreck, Aunt Sarah decided to go to Oklahoma. Just before leaving she told friends she regretted to leave her old home and friends but knew she would find new and true ones in her new home.
Aunt Sarah, who had been a regular reader of the Democrat for years, will continue to receive a copy each week, and in that way and from personal letters she hopes to keep posted as to what her former neighbors and friends are doing.
