17 Year Old Youth 8 Feet 3 Inches, Visits Clinton
A number of Clinton citizens had the privilege early Monday morning of seeing Robert Wadlow, perhaps the tallest person in existence, and who wears the largest shoe ever made for man.
Wadlow, who is 17 years old, weighs 372 pounds and wears a No. 36 shoe (length about 21 inches), was accompanied here by O. M. James, representative of Peters Shoe Company of St. Louis and Tate Heuer, dealer, of Harrison. They were touring the state on an advertising campaign for this well known shoe company and stopped in Clinton for a short time to visit Massey Brothers of Marshall who are putting in a line of shoes here.
