These two men are not my family as far as I know, so I know nothing further about them. Might be important to some other researcher, or just might add to the luster of Van Buren County, my special and beloved little corner of the universe.

31st REGIMENT ARKANSAS INFANTRY - CSA

MEDAL of HONOR
Company "D," Van Buren County: - PVT. WILLIAM H. HUIE was awarded the Confederate equivalent of the Medal of Honor for his heroism at the Battle of Chickamauga.

Company "F," Van Buren County: - SGT JOHN N. CANNON was awarded the Confederate equivalent of the Medal of Honor for his heroism at the Battle of Chickamauga.
