Johnny Mason had told that he was a "foster child" of Frank and Laura along with Earl Goodson. It is unclear whether they were ever officially adopted or not, but they were raised as though. John Mason was a history buff and the true family historian. He knew so much about the Stobaugh and Williams' families that he is very often quoted as a source and also in many family history books.

Notes for DENNIS SCROGGINS:
Dennis and Lizzie officially adopted George Lynn Stobaugh 11-19-1956. Though George was actually Lizzie's nephew, she and Dennis lived close to Etta and Orville Stobaugh. Lizzie so wanted a child of her own and after having lost the baby girl, Orville and Etta decided that George could be their heir. One of the most unselfish acts heard of.
Living with this couple in the 1930 Census was Roy Leilber as a boarder.

Orville was at one time a school bus driver for Nemo Vista Schools, a farmer, worked at Morrilton Cheese Factory and owned a Fish market close to Billie's Dairy Bar.

Orvill was age 23, born in Ark, was a farmer; Etta was 15, born in Ark was a housewife. They lived in Lick Mountain Twp. of Conway Co.: Odie was delivered by Dr. D. J. Halbrook of Formosa, Ar. It shows the mother as "Etter" - this was what Orville called her, so that could explain why it was recorded this way.

Dean and Geneva never had children. They were divorced in the mid 1970's, Dean remarried; Geneva moved to Springhill, La. where her brother lived. She died there, having never returned to Arkansas.
Dean raised Black Angus Cattle for Winrock Farms during his life. He also at one point, owned a Liquor Store in downtown Morrilton. Billie and Bill later ran the same business.

Notes for BILLIE JEAN STOBAUGH:
Billie went to college for one year at Ark. State Teachers (now UCA) in Conway, AR. She worked at a cafe in Morrilton named "Armors". in the early 50's she opened Wilson's Dairy Bar. She made the "Mix" a dish which was a mixture of chili and stew put together. Gooooood! The dish became sort of famous with the regulars to the Dairy Bar. Edith Deeter and Pansy Russell worked for her there, as did Barbara and Danny. She sold 5cent ice cream through a walk-up window; and five hamburgers for $1. At some point in the 60's E.L. bought the liquor store next door and they made a pass-through window so food could also be bought at the liquor store. After their divorce, both businesses closed.
Billie went to work at the Children's Colony in Conway after the divorce, as she had four children to raise. The job was obtained through connections with Marlin Hawkins. Billie really loved all of these children and took them home with her on holidays when she could.
When she married Bill, at some point they bought the liquor store and ran that quite successfully. (This was the store previously owned by Dean). Bill was also a Bondsman in his later years.
The house she and Bill lived in was built as a parsonage for the Presbyterian Church in Morrilton in 1890. The address was 405 West Valley. That house was demolished in 1997 or 1998.
Obituary, Petit Jean Country Headlight, Wed., Jun 7, 1995: "Mrs. Billie Jean Martin, 67, of Morrilton, died Tues, May 30, 1995. She was born April 25, 1928, in Center Ridge, a daughter of Orville Stobaugh and Etta Sheridan Stobaugh. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Morrilton. Survivors nclude her husband, William H. Martin; two sons, Eddie Wilson of Russellville and Mike Wilson of Morrilton; three daughters, Barbara Evans of Nashville, TN, and Alice Sponer and Amy Martin, both of Morrilton; five brothers, Ronald Stobaugh adn Danny Stobaugh, both of Russellville, Varnold Stobaugh of Greenbrier, Don Stobaugh of Overland Park, KS and George Stobaugh of Morrilton; two sisters, Patsy Dunn of Little Rock and Betty Dunn of Maumelle and 13 grandchildren. Funeral services were 10a.m. June 1, at the Harris Chapel by the Rev. Gordon Warren and the Rev. Larry Miller. Burial was at Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Gary Dunn, David Norman, David Stobaugh, Matthew Stobaugh, Tracey Stobaugh and Mark Stobaugh."
