* John J. Shipley had polio at age 3 and had a bad foot. He ran a local garage at Formosa all of his adult life. He wasn't able to serve in WWII, but he wanted to do his part, so he volunteered his services during the war at Camden Ar, working on the Armed Forces Vehicles. He married Alma Jordan of Scotland Ar. in the early 40s and they had 3 children.
