*CARROLL GRAVE
JAMES CARROLL 12-26-1807 North Carolina to 12-12-1863
Union County, Arkansas. North west of Hwy. 15 south, from El Dorado. Carroll Cemetery, Union Co, AR
When my great-grandfather
James Carroll died the
Confederate Army had taken
all the mules and horses.
There was nothing to draw
the wagon to take him to Hopewell
Cemetery where other relatives were
interred.
That trip was more than 5
miles and he was a rotund man.
His adult sons were in the
army. The women had his body
taken about 25 yards from
the house and buried. There he lies alone.
