BOND FOR MARRIAGE LICENSE
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we, D. T. Howard as principal and
I. C. Craig as security, are held and firmly bound unto the State of
Arkansas, for the use and benefit of the Common School Fund of Union
County, in the penal sum of ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS, for the payment of
which, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs,
executors and administrators, firmly by these presents.
Signed this 14th day of December 1878
THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE OBLIGATION IS SUCH THAT, whereas, the above
bounden D. T. Howard has this day applied to the Clerk of the County
Court of Union County, for a License authorizing the solemnization of
the Rites of Matrimony between the said D. T. Howard and Miss Lou
Dollar. Now, If the said parties applying for said License have a
lawful right to the same, and if they shall faithfully carry out nto
effect and comply with the provisions thereof, and shall, within sixty
days from the date hereof, return the said License to the office of the
Clerk of the County Court of said county, duly executed and officially
signed by some one authorized by law to solemnize the Rites of
Matrimony, then this obligation shall be void, but otherwise to remain
in full force and virtue.

Matrimony between Mr. D. T. Howard of Lapile, in the County of Union,
and State of Arkansas, aged 23 years, and Miss Lou Dollar of Lapile in
the County of Union, and State of Arkansas, aged 23 years, according to
law, and do you officially sign and return this license to the parties
herein named.
