If you own any St. Francis County sources, whether listed or not, and will do look-ups, please let me know. Email me at Paul V.Isbell. Feel free to request a look-up from the following resources. Please limit your request to one name per request. Please put ST. FRANCIS COUNTY LOOKUP in the subject line of your request to insure the message is not overlooked or accidentally deleted. In the first line of the message please put the name of the book from which you are requesting the lookup.
USGenWeb will not tolerate any copyright violations. Lookup requests should
be limited to one name, or perhaps two if it is a married couple. Information
given will be minimal, for example, if it is a cemetery lookup, the information
will be the name of the cemetery and dates on the headstone. Please do not
ask for "everyone with X surname" or an entire family group, or for hardcopies
to be mailed; the volunteers have been asked not to comply with such
requests.
Our lookups will extend to searching the book to determine if the book would
be helpful to you in your research. Should the book prove useful, we can
provide the authors address and ordering information. The USGenWeb Project
will endeavor to get a WRITTEN statement from each copyright holder which
stipulates which books may be used for lookups. If you request a lookup,
don't forget to thank your volunteer for their time.

The Forrest City Public Library has issues of the local newspaper on microfiche, dating back a number of years. The lovely ladies working there said they would be willing to look up items in the old issues, but things can change, always ask if they have the time. However, please understand the following: THEY NEED AN EXACT DATE SUCH AS A DEATH DATE TO DO A LOOKUP. There are also many gaps where whole weeks and months are missing. To email, click on the name above. The phone number is (870) 633-5646. The address is Forrest City Public Library, 421 South Washington, Forrest City AR 72335. If you write, please include a self addressed stamped envelope and if you call long distance, please offer to call back for the information. Their budget is slim, just like other libraries throughout the country!
