BLACKBURN/BREWSTER
My grandmother, Zelphia BLACKBURN Helms was born in 1890
in Cave City, Sharp County, AR. Her parents were Caswell
BLACKBURN and Virginia BREWSTER. Census records in 1880
indicate that Virginia's father was Benjamin F. BREWSTER,
who migrated from Meigs County, TN. Benjamin's son,
Alfred BREWSTER was reportedly the first superintendant
of schools in Cave City. One of his daughters, who married
a STEPHENS, raised Zelphia's sister, Frances Blackburn.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone who can give me
information about the Brewster family.

GOINS/GOINGS/SMITH
Looking for Goins/Goings children after parents death in Sharp, Lawrence
Cnty around Strawberry River abt 1857-1860. Can't locate who these
children lived with after death of parents: Pleasant L. Goins and wife
Mary Smith. Believe it may have been Gibson family. Located one name
listed with this family on Census of 1860 as Pleasant S. Goins Jr.;
however all the other children in this family listed as Gibson. Could
the census taker have made an error and some of these children were
Goings?
Does anyone know the parents of Pleasant L. Goins and of Mary Smith? My
husband's grandfather was one of their sons born 1854, William Zachariah
Goings Md Anne Elizabeth Ballard. Wm & Anne were in TX in 1898, he
died 1899.

RIKARD
I am looking for information on several of my ancestors from the late 1800s. My great grandfather was Richard L. Rikard and he was born in Arkansas. I have traced his family to Sharp county and the Wirth area. They appear to have moved to the area around 1880 from Alabama. There was a trio of Rikards that appear to have moved into the Wirth area around 1880 and all deeded between 80 and 160 acres of land. Their names were Willaim Hutch Rikard, wife Martha, Marion Rikard, and B.L. or Bell Rikard. I am interested in any and all information anyone may have. I found their names also listed in a book written on the one room schools of Sharp County as well. Willaim deeded 1 acre of land to build the Wirth
School House and William (Bill) and one of their sons had acted as school directors. I am also Interested in collecting photographs clippings and anything else associated to them and their parents/children. I am willing to cover the cost of having duplicates made.
